1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using FreeOCR (freeocr.xyz), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

2. Service Description

FreeOCR provides free online OCR (Optical Character Recognition) services that extract text from images, PDFs, and other document formats. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

3. Fair Use Policy

FreeOCR is free to use. To ensure fair access for all users, we implement rate limits:

• Daily file processing limits per user (IP-based)
• Maximum file size: 20MB per file
• Concurrent task limits to prevent server overload

We reserve the right to adjust rate limits at any time to maintain service quality.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates any third-party rights
• Attempt to overwhelm or disrupt the service (DDoS, bot attacks, etc.)
• Use automated scripts to bypass rate limits or access restrictions
• Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the content you upload. FreeOCR does not claim ownership of your files or the extracted text. Since files are deleted after processing, we have no access to your content after the OCR task is complete.

6. Accuracy Disclaimer

OCR technology has inherent limitations. While FreeOCR strives for high accuracy (99%+ for clear printed text), we do not guarantee 100% accuracy. Results may vary based on image quality, text clarity, language, and formatting complexity. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of OCR output.

7. Privacy

Your use of FreeOCR is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points: uploaded files are deleted immediately after processing, and we do not store your data.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or technical issues without prior notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FreeOCR and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, inaccurate OCR results, or service interruptions.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FreeOCR and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
